Our Disaster Recovery solutions is more than a
backup. Our robust services range from the ability to backup
your critical files direct to your private data vault to a
business class solution that mirrors your production
NorthStar server(s). Should your production server fail or
worse, your building be compromised due to Natural Disaster,
you may fail-over to your Disaster Recovery server located
in our Network Operations centre. Imagine having the ability
to log into your Disaster Recovery server real-time and be
able to check your data on demand. You can print, and
operate exactly as you would from production. Then consider
our service will also supplement your existing Windows
networks offering a complete DR ZONE for your enterprise.

HOW DOES IT WORK? Aegisys builds an identical server within the Aegisys Data Center infrastructure. The Disaster Recovery environment we engineer for you is private and 100% 3rd party auditable. Your Disaster Recovery environment is not shared on a common server as some other services do. Aegisys and Harris NorthStar will configure and manage your data synchronization using our automations. These vary based on your Operating System platform and Database. Aegisys defines your recovery window once we evaluate your specific environment.
WHAT AFFECTS WHAT I CAN HOT SITE? Aegisys is able to offer Disaster Recovery services beyond NorthStar. We support Windows applications such as Microsoft Exchange, and many other Windows 3rd party applications. However, logically, we are only able to only retrieve your data within a set time window usually during the evening / early morning hours. Therefore, your Internet bandwidth limits what "volume" of data we can sync with nightly. During first contact, we will discuss if your current connections meet your Disaster Recovery requirements.
HOW SECURE IS IT? Very! Aegisys bases our services on Extranet Connectivity between your firewall and our datacenter. This makes your solution as if it was in the next room with full 100% encryption. It is by the very same tunnel, you are able to fail-over to the Disaster Recovery Server in the event of a failure. Aegisys Data Centers are audited each year by a third party to ensure we are following best practices. View our Annual Letter of successful completion of audit here.
WHY IS THIS METHOD PREFERRED? Most companies use tapes to backup their data. Our solution is a LIVE server that may be logged into at any time to Test and Verify all is working as it should unlike a tape on a shelf that may not be complete or unreadable. Hosted Services powered by Aegisys
"GREEN" approved by Mother Nature ...
NorthStar Virtual Servers eliminates the
need to constantly replace or upgrade servers. The Virtual
Server, hosted through our ExclusiveNET, will have, as
part of a cost of service, private integrated access to
your hosted server with the ability to install more RAM and
CPU at the click of a mouse. Bundled with our Disaster
Recovery services above, you will have an high availability
configuration for automated fail-over with-in our operations
centre. To do this yourself with physical hardware, you
would need to buy two servers
plus the cost of software and dedicated staff to manage your
solution to even come close to what we are offering. Our
solutions encompass Windows, Linux and Solaris. Our cost of
service has been preferred by our clients as it does away
with the large capital expenses, constant upgrades and
depreciation and eliminates the computer "graveyard" in the
back room. Aegisys servers are updated every three years to
ensure our clients receive the fastest, most economical
performance possible. Please note that this is DIRECT
Console access to your servers and NOT a dashboard. You will
have FULL administrator credentials if you wish. Supported
software includes Harris NorthStar, and most Windows and
Linux applications unique to your enterprise!

Support Services
Place a certified helpdesk in your
Enterprise. Aegisys supplements your Harris NorthStar
maintenance by offering you real-time response to issues on
your PCs, Servers, and related network Infrastructure
without so much as a technician on site. We take watching
your network seriously so our Helpdesk is bundled with
monitoring and LIVE response 24x7x365. This allows us to be
proactive in our approach to service you better. Management
options include annual maintenance for databases such as
MSSQL, Informix and Informix Online, Oracle and MYSQL.
Supported platforms include Windows, Linux and Solaris. By
incorporating Aegisys into your infrastructure, you will be
assured of prompt knowledgeable proactive response from our
support specialists.
Pricing varies on helpdesk services required. Items that can
affect cost would be 24x7x365 support (FREE with our
Disaster Recovery solutions) and degree of responsibility of
your Enterprise class network IE Supplementary or Dedicated.

local remote access to their
networks. By centralizing remote access through Aegisys,
your enterprise is more secure, audited, and managed.
Aegisys provides, as part of our cost of service, SSLVPN
remote connectivity meaning once connected, through our
ExclusiveNET, you will be able to access your mapped drives,
launch NorthStar and assume control of workstations and
servers just as if you were still at work. This is a key

function from home against Production and Disaster Recovery

Pricing for this solution will vary as some simply require hosting for static web sites that rarely change whereas others have a dedicated ODBC connection and more sophisticated integration to remote networks. Patch Management
Aegisys takes the guess work out of your
Patch Management. Our servers are scheduled to patch your
workstations and servers based on a pre agreed time to
ensure your network is up to date and as secure as it can
be. Detailed PDF reports that indicate what has been
completed within your enterprise. Our Patch Management
systems meet and exceed NERC SIP compliance requirements.

period. It has been this diverse knowledge base that has
allowed Aegisys to be preferred by Harris NorthStar in the
direct assessment of Enterprise class networks with unique
integration requirements. We visit businesses requiring
reviews in Internal and External DNS, Active Directory,
Database standards, performance issues and so much more. We
are proud to partner with Harris NorthStar as their Business
Integration Solutions Provider to work to the
benefit of each and every client.
The difference between the
Standard and Premium below is our ability for Aegisys and
Harris NorthStar to be
pro-active. With the Standard plan, we
will receive alerts as they occur and we would then log in
to correct. However this would be a “reactive” plan. With
the Premium services, we are able to monitor 24x7x365
securely through the site to site VPN tunnel and as such we
can catch small issues before they become large ones. We can
detect failed disks, monitor disk capacity and physical
server performance and respond to keep the monitored devices
running stable instead of the “peaks and valleys” of issues
common to today’s busy networks and servers.
Standard Database Management
Configuration of MSSQL Mail
– this including working with your IT department to ensure
email is allowed to relay to a distribution group of MSSQL
administrators. In most cases Aegisys and Harris are first
response but typically, we include internal IT contacts for
informational purposes only. This is completely customizable
and will be adjusted on first contact. MSSQL operators are
configured complete with profile setup and events are
attached for specific MSSQL monitoring
MSSQL Events
– Aegisys will add MSSQL events to alert our team of memory,
CPU, disk I/O issues, and other key performance indicating
bottlenecks. These events are attached to operators created
above for proactive response. Events arrive typically by
email. Aegisys offers optional mail relay services against
our SMTP servers so as to streamline email flow.
PREMIUM DATABASE Management
Dedicated Pro-active
monitoring - 24x7x365 alerts with self
correcting automations. Based on the alert, Aegisys can
automatically restart stopped services as an example.
Aegisys monitors service, disk, processor, memory and
bandwidth. Reports of all DAILY server activity is
emailed each day to our clients. This will give you day to
day trend analysis of your server and databases overall
performance to your enterprise. This report is part of
assisting our clients meet regulatory standards such as
NERC.
Backup management
– Aegisys will monitor all backups and ensure transaction
log files remain in check. Database Shrink management to
optimize your disk space and overall backup windows is
included.
Database Integrity Repairs
– Aegisys and Harris will sense any issues with the
integrity of the data associated with NorthStar. Maintenance
would then be scheduled to perform the work and return your
database online with 100% health.
